SCFM DELIVERS RESULTS

OUTCOME: 
Fuel cost savings of $829,572/year compared with previous proposed compressor design

The Customer Situation: 
•  Customer was planning to install oil flooded twin screw with single 1000 HP (4000V) electric motor driven twin screw (direct driven – no gear)
•  
The capacity of this design was  8.0 MMSCFD @ 15 PSI inlet and 75 PSI discharge pressures, requiring 752 BHP.  8.0 MMS
•  
The delivery estimated to be 30 weeks

The SCFM Solution: 
•   Oil-flooded screw compressor package with two 400 HP (480V) electric motors, each driving single screws (direct driven – no gear)
•   
The capacity of this design was  8.0 MMSCFD @ 15 PSI inlet and 75 PSI discharge pressures, requiring 625 BHP (total for both screws)
•   
The delivery estimated to be 24 weeks 

The Results:
•   HP/MM was lowered from 94 to 78 a reduction of 17%
•   Fuel cost savings @$0.05/kwh was $829,572/yr
•  
 Unit was in production 6 weeks sooner
•   
Additional cost of two single screw compressor units (versus one twin screw) was recouped in less than first year, due to fuel cost savings
•   
The single screws are more efficient fully or partly loaded than any twin screw
•   
On-going maintenance cost savings, since the single screws are lower maintenance in both labor and parts than any twin screw
